St. George’s College (Week #82) – Day #375

Date for Entry: (Tuesday 08 October 2024)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (2024)

[T1, W:06 – WD:24, (Td:5)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning I got up early but was still late. The road was clear and there was a while for assembly to come. I believe the Form 3s and 4s were in the hall today. There was a chat about children vaping again. Before doing anything I had all of my times for September 2024 inserted into the OJT logbook. October was entered until today.

Jess told “Mel” that she would not be coming early today and wanted me to go through music careers with the Form 1s and Georgian icons. I did not take a picture of her previous notes. Does not seem to me that these would be enough to last a double period. I remembered the guard asking me if I was good when asking for the keys. She didn’t seem to accept “okay” as my answer and I didn’t know how to say no at the time.

I went to buy the Channa pie at the café and the two PTSA ladies were there chatting. Before Shiva left, he was asking about the journal again.* He asked me to send it to him. I hope that he enjoys it. While eating, “Andy” came and he was playing a nice song. Sadly he didn’t see the name to tell me. Sounded good with the violins at the start but it got spoiled as the second portion of the instrumental came in.

Didn’t see “Carthio” either. Maybe she and Jess went out? Soon Donna came. She made the point loudly that she did not like “Mel’s” Styrofoam box being in her way. We had a joke about an emergency and no bells as “Celia” came to Mr Pierre. The conversation changed to his retirement how people can take pre-retirement leave, and the way people in other professions train those next in line before going. This reminded me of my conversation with Mr Persad again somehow.

As soon as I began to ask the students to write down six careers in music and we discovered that they had done that ‘lesson’ already, I had to call and ask Jess about the next thing she would like me to do. I did not agree with the lesson on rests but I did the lesson with them. On the piano, I played “Marry Had a Little Lamb” a second time omitting a few pitches in between. This was the set induction before asking about the silence inbetween and then introducing the word REST.

As expected, Roberts did not tell them about the semiquaver. Also in disappointment, the red book required them to know about it if they were to do the questions. In the explanation, I gave them the joke of flagged notes. All of them were now learning the name of the manuscript book. The time went by so quickly that the class was over. Praise God.

During the 5th and 6th periods, I went to the library to work on the minutes booklet for the APC library. By 12:11 I was done. Jess was back in school and she was asking for the keys. The pan session happened and we were done in the roll call period.

In the evening, we had 1L and they were saying that the ‘L’ stood for legends. I hope that they can live up to that claim, which would be great. Mr Bain helped us with the rearranging of the desks and chairs in the music classroom before leaving. It was nice of him to join us for the Panorama session and do the drumming on the Djembe. This was the class to get the career note. Both Jess and I were tired after. I had to fight the tiredness in the last twenty-eight minutes of school. Was beginning to fall asleep on myself.

I loved the way that the sun lit the entire staffroom up getting back in after school. The lights were turned off for some unknown reasons and maybe that’s why I liked it more. I went home to work on another COAG song “A Created Being should be at the Mercy of God”. The chords were being inserted that night.
