Dear Diary,

There was an early awakening this morning. Daddy was still limping. I got onto the first bus waiting and got on. It was nice to hear the Venz-men speaking briefly on the bus and also to see a CIC uniform. It reminded me of doing their college song.

One of the songs on the bus before I got to the NIB building was recorded. Sounded like heavy metal but with more shouting. I loved the light rap and singing in the verses. I know I would enjoy doing the transcription for it. Would be better if a steelpan arrangement would be possible to do.

The walk to school was faster down Sixth Avenue. I saw Miss Mustapha and gave her a friendly wave with a smile. She and I walked into the compound together. She said she went to get her breakfast right down the street. I had a good chat with “GG”. She said that “Mel” gave her some spicy pork to try. I wondered if she had some for me too, lol. It took me a while to get yesterday’s entry completed. She told me, “The first day of fasting is always a kill because yuh shut down the system no matter how many times you do it.”

Interesting how many things happened yesterday too. Shiva was talking to Mr Marlon about staying home and offering him a ride if he didn’t want to come while warming up Mr Ramdath’s chair. They were laughing about Donna’s comment earlier. The other laugh of the morning came soon after. As soon as they saw me writing in the journal log, “GG” realised that it was part of an online entry.

I completely forgot about the lower school Religious Instruction this morning. Jess had finally made it to school. Maybe she will go to Roberts’ Upper 6 class. I might slip this one. On my way to MR Richard, the session was going on in the hall. I decided to stay and listen to the message first. It was understanding god as Omnipotent, Omnipresent, and Omniscient, and also God as the Sovereign God. It felt like I might speak about God’s functions after. I enjoyed the lesson.

Once the session was completed, I went on to the cafeteria. Mr Richard was wiping down the counter after the lawn blower passed by. He got a rag and wiped it back clean. Class with 1F came soon. Jess and I went to the homeroom. She went through careers in music, Georgian icons and elements of music. The double period was forever for both of us. As recess went on, a short meeting occurred for the staff.

  1. Mercury leak in labs to fix ($2,500)
  2. Dressup day for students on Divali is to be determined.
  3.  ***
  4. School running on no funds.

There were still a few more minutes to recess time. I recall entering the staffroom where Miss Dayna was making a joke about people addressing themselves as ‘they’ or ‘them’ and saying the person is one and not plural. “Carthio” suggested that people just call themselves an ass. Roberts sat near me at her desk while I was at mine.

Later that evening class with the Form 4s went quickly. They were doing practicals today. We continued with the “Out and Bad” to the end of the first system on page two with the run. They were good today but the Saturdays will be the start of the real Panorama practices.

At 12:20 Sydney was having lunch. She needed some more minutes to finish. I went to use the washroom and then got back to work out the theory with some of the students in class. I went through accidentals, major scales formula, the Major scales, intervals and then key signatures. She was shown the secret between the treble and bass key signatures. I gave her the questions that were assigned them and told her to bring them back on Monday.

The pan practice was just a few minutes to end. To pass the time I went to paper the teacher’s attendance register bood from May 30th 2024. A lot of parents were coming early and only Miss Mohammed was in the office. I papered the book there and did the design for the cover. The school was over by the time that I was done. She was over by the time that I was cleared up.

I got home to work on “That’s What Friends Are For”. The strumming for my arrangement of “If You Could See Me Now” was recycled. At first, my inside was strongly recommending it and it sounded workable. The night was over soon. Maybe tomorrow it will finally be done.
