Dear Diary,

Daddy gave his final call this morning at 7 AM. I got up and got ready early. He found out that I woke from on the couch. The ride to Barataria was right. No interesting songs were playing on the bus. I could not find the Bruno Mars song that was playing yesterday. This led me into Hip Hop music all night for about 2 hours to see if I find other songs out of the unlimited playlist YouTube provided to me. Too much messed-up stupidness was coming out from there. I got to “That’s What Friends Are For”. I used a completely different video from the two that were sent to the Form 4s by Jess.

I got the pie done and journaling to finish yesterday’s entry also. There was a drag feeling in the room. Soon Jess came for us to get the laptop started to get their Panorama letter typed up. It was better for “Mel” to type it over WhatsApp and I would do the format when I got home. We had no internet to send it to the office and use emails. This was better since I could not understand any of her handwriting. It was too early to be angry about so many things.

Jess and I had a class with 3F. Jess decided to carry the children down to the music room and did the songwriting exercise. Akash was noisy as usual and “Mr Dass” and I spoke about Diddy since he could not get the topic out of his head. Towards the end of class, “Mr Hoyte” told me that it would be his birthday tomorrow and was insisting on finding out “what I would be getting him”.

The staffroom felt lonelier than ever. I could not it there and listen to Shiva mock Mr Pierre. The library got filled. I started to continue the last of Exodus Eight. 3L students came up during the fifth period. I was able to start Exodus Nine just before recess. I think I will be coming back to the library for further alone time. I just wished that my brown table from home was here to be an even more isolated area. Some of the children were there to lime during the time. Miss Alexander had to quiet them four times.

During lunchtime, Jess gave me her flashdrive to slip the letter on that I ended up typing for her. “GG” was now finding out that “Mel” left since morning. There was a joke about Mrs Noons-Charles going out and coming back with two boyfriends (from Mrs Santana and “Patty”). That was a loud laugh from the staff.

Class with 2F was long. Jess tried to correct the homework and the students did not know what to do. Ravid came a few times for some questions and guidance from me. The same with “Miss Narinesingh” and a long-haired girl in the front. I planned with them to meet them at 12:20 for a review class to walk them through the topics. “Miss Charles” asked to join too but I’m not certain she will remember to join us tomorrow.

That evening I had a long sit before going up the road. Daddy took a while to come. There was a guy who looked like Diego chatting and all he and his friends spoke about was clothes and girls. Thank God we left fast. They did not have good taste at all. I got dinner out of the way before going to clean the bathroom and shave. I was done with both by minutes to 7 PM.

Daddy called to say that his ankle was swollen and not sure if he could walk. I got almost 2 minutes of the “That’s What Friends Are For” song transcribed. I made it to bed thankfully. Sadly, I got up to blow my nose. I felt like the cold was coming on.
