St. George’s College (Week #95) – Day #441

Date for Entry: (Friday 31 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:04 – WD:20, (Td:2)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning was a hard get-up. I had a cold in my eyes like from yesterday. It was scary to experience that as if the eyes were going blurry again. I got up and got ready. The cars on the bus route had formed a chain with the red light in Curepe, so I took the chance and crossed. Almost got hit by a bus. Thankfully, one driver stopped for me. I didn't rush down the road today, but took my time. Religious Instruction was about to go on. It took a long time to finish, too.

2L was taken to the music room. I worked with two groups, and Jess worked on the others; they had more work to put together. Ameer's group had a song written by "Mr Samlal", but he is accustomed to Dancehall, and it only came out as rap. I knew this because of the song's structure. There were a lot of comments to be made. They had to voice note my comments to him while Nicolas had to calm down "Mr Rampersad" and "Mr Danclare" from misbehaving in the back.

At one point, I had to ask Ameer to cut the voice and not send it for us to laugh before continuing. The double period was over by the time I got to Kaleb's group. His song sounded like one of those rough soca songs. His work was very good, but to get his voice to sound like the guy who sang those songs would be the challenge. One song reference would be "When ah dead, put jab jab on meh tombstone". I returned to the staffroom to cool off and get yesterday's entry completed.

Jess came back and didn't say that she was leaving. The Corporal came and said that Jess left the compound and that a man came to ask to take back some instruments. When I called Jess, she said that they were coming for the red six bass pans, a guitar and some other small pans. It looked like carrying the six basses first was their mistake? I waited all recess for them to come back. The men said that they were going to St Augustine to come back.

I locked up and got back into the staffroom. It was nice of Mr Charles to ask how I was going and if I was alright. Then GG told him that it was a good attempt to try being nice. "Mr Barbour" had come to ask if he could have the keys for Jess. I gave it to him and then went to the office. I saw Mr Pierre going through his cabinet. We had all realised this morning that it was his last day before retirement. The office was empty, only with Miss Ali and Candice. They were talking about hair. Then Candice had asked me after Miss Ali what colours she said would look good in her hair. I told her that orange and yellow might look good.

The box lunch gentlemen came by, and they got their book signed by Indera in the Vice Principal's Office. There were the cards for Sports Day that had to be cut. Mr Charles came into the office and asked what they had to do with it. Candice brought it down from her office and said that they had to be cut. He ended up cutting all the pages with the old guillotine. He was mentioning how the first three were spoiled. The rest of them were done very good. Originally, they had to be cut by the border, but he did it better by cutting them right down the middle of the four cards.

When I asked Candice about the work she said she had for me, she took me to her office and showed me a box that had to be pulled down to the outside of the Vice Principal's office. They had files of leave forms from teachers from 2015 to 2023. These will be the sets that I have not worked on yet. That means the filing cabinet with the forms I had worked on has not been found yet. Please, Lord, let those forms be found and protect them for me. In the process of sorting all the manila folders, I was assisted by Afisha's cousin, who came for the day. I learned during the time that her name is Xaria. She got a pencil to write in the years for us to remember which pile belonged to which year. She was taken to go for lunch by Hunchies.

While being left alone, I ended up leaving the folders there on the ground and went to fix up for the aerobics event that I was asked to score. There was a table fixed up for us and a water table in the back being managed by two unknown ladies. Before sitting at the table, Donna was pouring white grape wine into plastic cups, and they were sharing cubes of a log cake for Mr Pierre's retirement. The only issue was that they were not seeing him around, and the event in the hall was about to start.

I ate a cube of the cake and drank half a cup of wine, and went back to the hall. Donna's eyes were big and opened at me, saying, "Sir! No! Yuh suppose tuh wait fuh Mr Pierre." I went out the door and waited by the table with my binder board and pencil case. The breeze was blowing up my hair all around. I saw Miss Soodeen was registering the Mitchelle House athletes for this event on a sheet of paper and handing out their numbers to clip onto their shirts: one for the front and one for the back.

The warm-up session took a long while, so I sat with my phone and typed up the log entry from this morning. Althea sat on my left, and she got me angry for the whole thing. It was either you want to sit and write like me, "Jan", and Susan, or you want to go and galavant yourself around in a displeasing way. At one time, she got mixed up and confused. Then she began arguing with me. Well, praise God I didn't say anything.

"Jan" and I were both confused about the order. Everything was in a rush. We were also not told to keep numbers from children who were out. So that had to become a second kind of rush. At some point in the event, the instructors who were issuing the warnings ran out of paper and came to us to see if we had any more. They had to get more into the office. I made the mistake of blanking out the numbers on the warning forms for them to recycle. Gloria was shocked and said that the paper was reused afterwards. If I knew it was her supervising, I would have never agreed to the scoring, sadly.

At the end of the event, the other put their numbers in the zip lock bags and went away. I took my time at the desk to neatly write over the form before returning to the staffroom. I saw "Jan" and Susan sitting by Miss Carthy, and they were organising the numbers in order and then putting the warning forms in piles to be stapled. After four teachers annoying me, Miss Carthy was the fifth teacher to vex and annoy me. I ended up talking back big when she wanted to big mouth "Wey Mitchell?! All de odah house dem bring een dih thing!"

She looked down at me when I responded. While leaving, I did mention that there was a number missing. She got me vexed again, and I had made sure that she understood my agreement was about writing and not collecting numbers or finding paper for the instructors to issue warnings. As soon as I finished, I took it to her desk. I left it on top of the other three house files, saying to her, "And the last shall be the first." She smiled big and laughed.

I went to check and see which kind of filing cabinets they had outside of the Vice Principal's office. They looked older, so when I asked Candice about the cabinets from Valsayn in the Vice Principal's Office, she said that Mr Charles placed everything from in there somewhere else, and it would be mixed up in everything. This made me more panicked.

I went to copy the four forms that were finalised last night. Three of them were created from scratch for the first time, and the other was updated. I gave it to Candice to keep for Patty since she was in a meeting with Indera and had invited her to take a look if she liked. I went up the road. The walk was slow. As I got up to the road to cross, the bus driver went over the line and had to reverse. I almost got bounced down by a police car making a turn from the side road onto the bus route, and had to walk in between the two vehicles to get to the side. I boarded the bus, and the ride was slow. Started to feel worse than yesterday.

We got home and I couldn't eat much. I got the lesson started yesterday in school completed it at night. I did some light painting. Only three were completed, and I began to fall asleep on the couch by 10 PM.

St. George’s College (Week #95) – Day #440

Date for Entry: (Thursday, 30 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:04 – WD:20, (Td:2)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning, Daddy had to knock on the glass window a third time. I got up and got ready quickly. The ride down to school was slow, as well as the walk down Sixth Avenue. The staffroom was already filled on my entry to the staffroom. Mel and GG were sitting by their desks. I mentioned to them how I skated and fell into the kitchen door yesterday evening.

When she left for class, I went to the office to drop off the forms for Patty that were printed yesterday evening. Mr Harry was being his usual inappropriate self and tried to make the joke that they were bad-talking me as soon as I walked into the room. The pies were paid for afterwards. Mr Richard said that he has no pepper and that it's very hard to get any. I was hoping that the pie would still be test tasty and that the Channa would hold out.

I went back to the staffroom to work on the new lesson for today. When it was third period for class with 3F, I went to get the keys. The guard said that it was already taken. She was able to confirm that Kess had already taken it and that the room was open. The children were already there.

Shiva was sitting with Jess, and they were chatting about sports day and no money for funding outfits for the marching band. There was a meeting for that as I was walking back to my desk with the pupils at recess time. The options were to see what could be arranged for each house, and if not, the children would have to revert to their regular Physical Education T-shirts and track pants.

Everyone in the houses said that the march past was not necessary, but the lady who was threatening to shut the sports down, Miss Carthy, said that it had to have a march past. The teachers moved away, and as I finished eating the two pies, recess came to an end. I went to see Mel first before heading off to the office. She was making necklaces for the marchers, but it was hand-crocheted. She and Kai sat and did the rest.

I went over to the lobby to finish trying up the entry for yesterday. The prefect boys were making noise and sounded like they were caught for something. This was during the sixth period while the majority of the school was in house meetings. Didn't realise it was a green shirt that I had on today. I thought of AJ when I saw that. He hadn't been in school for a while. The tug-of-war was going on in the savannah during lunch. They had set up the next computer on the desk that Patty had got the student to bring in yesterday evening. Sadly, it was the slow one.

I could not type or get anything to work when Choo Choo came at lunch to ask for letters for two students. It ended up being me to type and print them from one already created. I also used the header that was created. Candice was over in the savannah to see the events. The letters were signed and stamped, then collected after roll call.

The rest of the evening was slow and quiet. I continued working on the lessons for the book. Candice was mentioning how tired she was and that she used to leave by 2:20. I remained there in he office until 3:40. Patty had to go early, and she ended up waiting on Jeanice to finish her forms. Thankfully, I had all of my information with me at school to complete mine. The Resumption form was signed in the minutes leading up to the end of school. Miss Chote left earlier.

Patty thought that Candice was coming back, but Miss didn't get the feeling that she was coming back. Miss Solomon came to do up her times, but he ended up leaving it for another time. Her husband came for her, too. I turned off the lights and locked the door behind me, exiting the office. Got packed up and waited. The walk was long. I needed to take my time. The trip up to Curepe was so slow and tiring. My eyes were getting cold in them as if I was up too late past my bedtime by Isa. There was a wait for him to staple the books for me. I had all of today's journal entry typed up. It felt like too much to type up.

The wait was too long for Andrew to get up to Curepe, too. His shirt got ripped on a wire in the road as he was getting into the car. He shared a biscuit, but it was too salty. I could remember the look on his face saying that, lol. I went home to eat and ended up going to work one time. I was contemplating sleeping first, but it was three nights gone and still all the forms were not made. It took me from then to minutes past 11 to work on those four forms.

I didn't want to send them to Patty so late. I will do so tomorrow in school and have them printed to go with the rest of the forms to the MMT meeting. Couldn't remain awake at all. That completed the evening. I hope that Afisha gets through well with the form submissions tomorrow morning.

St. George’s College (Week #95) – Day #439

Date for Entry: (Wednesday 29 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:04 – WD:18, (Td:6)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning was my bank morning in St Augustine. I saw Shaun there while waiting. One person was in front of us, and they were taking a long time to do the process. I took the time working on lesson twenty-three. There were a few questions available to give the children without reading any from the handbook.

During my process of applying, the lady said, "It is a savings account you'll be getting. So, you'll be fifteen dollars maintenance." I was very baffled and asked her what maintenance had entailed. After bluffing and not knowing what to say, she responded, "It just means that we're taking fifteen dollars out of your account." I wanted to ask her to replace the word taking with the word stealing. It was surprising that Daddy didn't know about this. I wanted to cancel the application once.

We went to Massy's after, and there was no guard to hold down the lockers up front. I didn't like that. Vangy gave us a call looking for the oxygen tank. She gave me a joke about going into the bank. She was deciding whether to continue working like me. We both ended up deciding to go to work. Daddy bought me a pie in Curepe to go with the stuff we bought in Massy's.

One maxi was waiting to cross while I waited. A taxi driver said that it was a good one to go in because it was empty, he said to himself. The walk down was a little fast. Teachers were already eating. I had my lunch, and lunchtime came quickly. I had some fun doing aerobics today. Mrs Santana was in her workout clothing and had her blue bandanna on her head. I stood in the back to see the instructor properly. It was someone much different from last week's Wednesday. I finished the whole practice session.

Three 3M students spoke with me about the session. They looked tired. For me, I was feeling the pain, but ready to go again. I got my water in the staffroom and then went to the office to cool off afterwards with my tray. There was not much to do except clean up the front desk. There was a big box of paper and other things that Patty had asked me to clear out. Instead of using the office bin, she gave a big, clean bag. Candice and Miss Ali cleared out early. Only Patty and I remained there until 6:00 PM.

I remained cleaning out the office desk, and she was cleaning out the Principal's Office. A few times here and there, it had letters I took over to her, which were addressed to the Principal or Asha. Thankfully, the internet was back on to play music while I went through the desk drawers. It was disgusting going through all of them. There were a lot of letters that needed to be sorted out. There was another box of lost and found that Miss cleared out. I took two empty ice cream buckets to wash out and put the lost items in them. The smaller one I put the jewellery in, and the other was for phones and calculators.

Just before we left, she had asked me if I had made the prints. Miss said that she can forward the PDFS to the MMT team, and the copies would be for those who would prefer to see the real thing. This evening, it was nice to meet her husband on the ride up home. I was in pain from skidding from the door into the door, and the handle squished my left wrist.

I got dinner out of the way when I got in. Seven paintings were done tonight. I almost ended up falling asleep at my desk in the gallery. From 8 to 12, I was outside. It took a long time to write up my timesheet. I also had the printed forms to sort out. Couldn't do much again. I was hoping to make two more forms for the night, but the strength was no longer there. I hope there won't be much pain in my legs in the morning after all that aerobics.

**Transcript Document

Dear Diary,

This morning was a long one to wake up. I just got to school a few minutes after eight. I ended up hearing "Melvin's" voice saying red light, so I walked to the pavement and stopped. Didn't know it was for the direction facing Barataria. I waited for the next red light, and a maxi driver was waiting for me to cross. The ride was a little slow, but it was fascinating to see over twenty buses in front on the bus route.

The Anglican school's children were singing a different song before moving on to the national anthem. I went to pay for the pies and then got my things out. It was a singing morning, and Mr Charles too was singing from the music playing on his headphones. The staffroom was empty, but it was nice. Reminded me of the Friday when Rehana was singing and some of the others were around before the first period. Artee was asking me if I liked a T-shirt. It was black and blue.

By the time she left, I felt that it was for the Sports Day T-shirt. Mel told me the same and and I said okay. I did not like the design for this at all. At 9:11, Jess was coming in with a new hairstyle with Carthy. The time went by for our first class with 1f in the morning. She asked me to take the class down to the music room and have them line up while she goes to get the keys. Some of the groups were formed outside.

There were groups doing soca songs and two dancing calypso. She sent me into the pan room to see about the calypso students. The first of two had nothing at all. I walked through some ideas. The second group had lyrics, and when I asked, it was truly done by one student. They had to make a melody over. Thankfully, they had a track from YouTube to use. I felt exactly at recess time. The purses were good. As soon as I was done, the water came back into the kitchen. Still, no light bulbs were put in.

I went to the office, and Candice sounded like she was happy to see me, lol. The first trial of work came when a teacher came asking for assistance to print something from the school email. It could not go through because the internet was down. I also learned today that the internet had to be working for the computer to instruct the printer to print.  A lot of people had to go without their prints. Miss Paul's stuff could not even be printed and signed. When Patty asked, it was the same thing. She mentioned printing from a flashdrive, but that didn't happen. I also got the CAPE and CSEC register book opened for Candice when two sets of persons came to ask for their certificates. She giggled, saying that I was learning fast.

I was at the computer for a while. I was able to open up the transcript stencil that I made. Candice was happy. She was able to confirm for me that the letterhead was something they recycled for each student requesting a transcript. I was able to activate the developer and insert text boxes for specific information. The boxes had labels for quick inserts. I felt as if they could review that letter and make it a bit better. Candice was happy again.

When I asked if it was okay to make over the letterhead head she said Yeah. It looked better in the way that I had recreated it. They were also using the older George's logo, so I had that removed. The document was much better now. At lunchtime, Celia came in and I spoke about the leave and absences. She wanted to hand me the paper and walk away, but I had to let her know that it worked when Dr Blandin called out the numbers and I typed. She did not look like she wanted to do that, and looked too stressed out to do it. When I asked her to go through it with me tomorrow, she said that she had a parent meeting all morning long.

Only this morning, when heading over to the office, Miss Chote and I had a laugh about the leave forms still being processed from September 2024. It was then she told me that I could help out if I wanted. The rest of the day was smooth. Only one student's project was brought in during the eighth period by someone. I asked them to write the student's name and class on it before leaving it. It looked like they had skipped class when I went to deliver it. The assignment was given to Miss Daniels.

Only after school, the girl came looking for the assignment, and I told her that Miss Daniels. She had to run back to her car because she knew Miss would have gone already. Miss Ali was gone for a long time. Candice stayed back, looking for her air conditioning remote. She had a long wait because Patty was in a meeting with a student and her father.

Ended up leaving, and then I was last. Patty came back and she found the air conditioning remote. I took it from her to take off the unit by Candice's office. She asked if I was leaving now to call the guard to lock up, or if I would go call the guards when I'm done. I told her that she can call the guards. Had to get my work on my flash drive loaded for when I got home.

Aunty Vangy came later that night to drop off a clear bag of things that I got from Focus Home on Saturday after our trip to Logos Hope. I ended up staying by the television to watch “Miraculous” up to 7:30 and then going to the computer to fo up the work. I sent fourteen forms to Patty over WhatsApp and then went to try and make the Printing Requisition Form. It was easier than I thought to make. My insecurity first was the fitting of four copies onto one page, but it worked.

I was also able to fill over the school's Consent Form. It was desperately needed based on the previous two attempts that I made. Had three tables for the upper portion and recycled the portion of the Principal's Signature and the Parent/Guardian's information. This was sent off to Patty also. The next form to do over was the Exam Labels Form. However, the night got too late and I could not stay awake.

I could not make to see the new "Curse of Oak Island" episode or the other new series right after. I had to go to bed. Hopefully, as it is Day 6 tomorrow, I will be able to work on recreating the form (after two previous attempts).

St. George’s College (Week #95) – Day #437

Date for Entry: (Monday 27 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:04 – WD:16, (Td:4)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning the waking was not so difficult. Daddy was surprised that I got up quickly. There was a bus waiting at the red light as soon as I got across the bus route. The ride was long somehow. As soon as I went walking down Sixth Avenue, I saw Mr Charles already far down the road. Two Georgian girls were behind me talking about how they would rather so their hair the whole walk. The atmosphere felt very cool. It was only by the time that I rested my bags in the staffroom and walked up to the cafe that I saw the sky darkening.

2M class was singing Happy Birthday for someone as I was walking away from the staffroom. I bopped back into the staffroom and was greeted by "Choo Choo". I saw Indera there signing, but didn't bother to pester her so early to find out when we will be working on the lateness and absences. As soon as I signed the date in my logbook, I headed up the date in the OJT Attendance book. I realised that it was Day 4 today instead of Day 5.

When checking my timetable, I realised that we had class for the first six periods of the day. I got up to get my stuff and hurried down to the music room. The students were not in their home class. Jess was now getting the children to take out their books with their lyrics. None of them had a track for their songs, so it looked like this was the session for the day. Many of the groups looked like they did not work on any more verses to make the song full. I saw a nice King James Bible on the old desk that Roberts used. It had belonged to "EB", and it had the red writing in it.

I sat by a desk in the back to type all of this for the morning so far, then to work on the workbook. I am praying that ideas can flow into my head for the later topics. The class with 2l ran into 9:54. Thankfully, the 3M students knew to come by the music room. Rain was pouring heavily outside. They were asked to resit back into their groups. It seems like this class will be like the previous class. I left the room exactly at recess time and then went to get the pies. They were cooled down by this time, and the pepper was good enough.

By the time I was finished eating and had cleaned my plate, the time for recess was over. I went to the office and saw that they had cleaned down the entire front desk. It looked very clean. A dean's matter was going on between two students, probably of two different form levels, as Mrs Allen-Brown and Mr Marlon were dealing with paperwork. I sat there for a while, and it looked like they were busy. While doing music for the book alone, Patty came back and saw that I was writing music, and she offered if I wanted to help with the work for Miss Paul.

Candice came out and showed me a template that they used. This same document was used for the Sick Leaves and Occasional Leaves for each year, for each month. I took a seat, and she went to look for something in the Principal's Office, which was in a mess for the whole academic year thus far. She came back with a very old, blue casebound notebook. It had tables and handwriting. The guidance officer came for copies, which gave me time to pray over the book. It looked confusing, but as I focused on Miss Paul's row, there was an SL row and an OL row, but it recorded the full year from January to December for each teacher.

It looked like they would have been glad to have the forms that I made at that time. I feel like if I get time, I will do over the book for them digitally. Only a few minutes into the seventh period, I was able to complete the work. Candice said that the last row would need a total of everything from 2009 to 2014. I decided to put an annual tally for each year and then total all those totals to get the final amounts. I had to leave the file like that since Candice remained chatting away on her phone. It would have been nice if she could have stopped for me to see the document completed and signed. Hopefully tomorrow I will get to find out the runnings of the rest.

Patty spoked with me after waiting and waiting for the call to over. She and I spoke about the data entry that I did for the day. She asked if I was having fun, and I said yes. I told her that it would be nice if I could do it over in the digital form that I made. She took the comment out of my head and said that it would be nice. The rest of the evening was dead. I didn't even realise that it was 2:35 after school. Jess was in the office doing something about the steelpan. It sounded like the other competition with San Juan/ Barataria.

I packed up and decided to go. Even Indera had her bags packed up to go. We did not get to have our meeting to work on lateness and absences for the teachers. It was nice to see her writing in the school's logbook while getting her to sign a leave form. I assisted three parents in signing their children out today, and being at the desk, I was useful in issuing the college stamp. The clouds were getting darker, so I didn't bother to go back and speak to Patty; she looked busy with Jess. I walked up the road and went to Curepe.

The ride was long, but Daddy said that he found I got there quickly. He was still waiting for Andrew to come up. Didn't have the money to do the music book work by Isa today. Maybe tomorrow. I went home to have a Muslim barbecue. I ended up painting 8 paintings that evening before going to complete the lessons I began working on earlier today.

Afterwards, at 10:00 PM, I went to review some of George's Forms that were made in hopes that Patty would be able to see and possibly approve them for use at the school. I got two more paintings done before going to bed. I couldn't make it to finish the third one. It was nice chatting with Miss Paul, too. Hopefully, she will be able to find out the required information for things to work out.

St. George’s College (Week #94) – Day #436

Date for Entry: (Friday 24 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:03 – WD:15, (Td:3)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning was not easy to wake up. I jumped in the shower and prepared myself quickly. Since I wore the Mitchelle House T-shirt on Tuesday, another blue shirt was chosen. I had almost forgotten my cross chain before walking down the stairs. The ride was quick, and the Anglican school had their morning singing and drumming as I was crossing the road. The school was quiet. I saw "Choo Choo" on my way in with Mrs Santana and "Celia". The Guard saw my blue and asked if I was in the Blue house also. I told her yes.

The pies were purchased for, and Mr Richard asked if I wanted them then. It was my mistake doing this because it burned my tongue for the remainder of the day. The religious session took some time to finish, so I had enough time to eat and get to class with Jess. She decided to take the students outside of the classroom today and said that I could take some Air Conditioning.

I stayed in the classroom and got lesson twenty completed there. At first, the question stopped at seventy points, but it came up to a full hundred. The time was getting close to recess, so I returned to the staffroom. I could recall that at some point Candice passed in the corridor giggling and saying, "Daryl yuh rell look like a student dey, boy."

I went to see Mel in the back. She was still painting banners for the panorama students. There was a crazy message from Jeanice. She and Miss were planning out the display for the cultural icons in school. She said that since I mentioned Pat Bishop that I should do a presentation on her. However, she began to regret it because it had some easy things that I could have done for the presentation.

Recess time was over sooner than I thought. I had to get a copy of the timesheet. I was hoping to work on it over the weekend in time for next week's submission. Candice was by the computer and using the same sheet that I had written up the transcript numbers for her yesterday. She had a grading sheet that was used by the school, and substituted the numbers with a grade in an Excel document. I offered to call out the numbers for her, and it helped to speed things up. When she was done, I called her back out to verify if she had done every subject. The remainder of the document was the CSEC, CAPE 1, AND CAPE 2 results before the Principal can sign off on the document.

It looked like a document that I could probably create as a stencil for them to recycle. When she tried to centre the text, they were scrambled. When she asked for assistance, I noticed that the text had a lot of spacing in it. She backspaced two columns, and it came out as needed. I also mentioned the transcript numbers sheet that was created, and she and Afisha gave me a laugh. Afisha told her about me, mentioning me on Wednesday, saying that I could make a better attendance register than what the PMO Officer had given us.

All this time, the houses were in their meeting getting ready for their Chantwell competition for the Sports. Lunchtime even came and met us, and I did not remember about the Form 4 class that was supposed to happen in the fifth period. I spoke with Artee for a while, and she mentioned how sick she was feeling with the saw throat. It seems like a lot of the teachers are getting sick first, before the children, this time around. She did mention that this kind of sickness makes you want to lie down and makes it difficult to get up and function. It was nice to see Isekel come back to the office. Miss Chote was mentioning to Candice that they got permission to give him a stipend to come back and help out. He was also supposed to have a teaching session for some of us.

The Chantwell competition began soon in the seventh period. I got there late but in time for the first performance. The order of presentations was Leacock, Mitchelle, Gift and Farrell. Leacock had a good drumming, but their people were just in the cluster. They had nicer flags than the other houses.

Mitchelle was after, and they entered from two sides of the left side of the quadrangle with a call and response march. The singing had rap, formation, costuming, smoke makers and the full works. It was nice to see Justin sing and dance. This was the best performance without being biased.

The next was Gift, and they had Miss Jones' grandson on moko jumbie stilts. However, it was a very poor performance. They also remained in one cluster, like Leacock, but moved around as a cluster. It was nice to see that they had dancers in their performance, which other houses did not have.

The last house to present was Farrell, and I enjoyed their entrance to the 'stage'. However, when everyone got onto the field, they spoiled it one time, and it was like What on earth am I watching. Everyone had a bad remark to give that which echoed in the whole school. There was a chant off against the house three times. The third time was when everyone took off into the quadrangle and chanted off against each other. They were getting too noisy, so I went back into the office.

A lady came to drop off a document, so I could not remember everything. Instead of letting fear take me over, I gave a piece of paper to write it down on a piece of the same scrap paper that I used from yesterday and then had it put on Miss Chote's VP desk. I also remember earlier during lunchtime, a man came to collect his son. The boy did not ask for a leave form earlier that morning, and when I gave him the form to be filled out by his Form Teacher, he came back saying that the teacher was eating lunch. The three of us had a long laugh about that.

Then I did remember when making over that form, "Mr Marlon," that sometimes a dean can sign on behalf of a Form Teacher, so that was my next recommendation. Thankfully, Javid helped us out. I got the form to sign from Miss Chote, and the boy and his father were able to leave. At 2:10, I left the office for the staffroom. I had a copy of the timesheet form that I made. Candice copied it after seeing the form, and she seemed to like it. I got the same George's grading system page borrowed for when I go to update this new invention over the weekend.

I had to see Miss Daniel first to confirm the difference between Home Economics and Family Management. She said that Family Management is called Family and Resource Management. As I made the corner, I heard Donna saying, "What! Like ah see yuh was out dey dancin', Mr Ali!" I responded, "Like yuh see right, then," and she laughed out.

Everyone cleared out of there like vacuum sucked everybody up. Miss Harris' bigmouth was going on and on about the results and performances. She was also commenting in frustration, somehow, about Farrell always losing and coming last in everything. "GG" started laughing aloud when I told her the joke about Farrell. Miss Carthy couldn't take the noise. She was singing the "take it easy" song again, but she needed people to help her do the work. It would surely not be an appropriate anthem for her.

Mel and GG were waiting for Mr Raymond to pick them up. I packed up and went out. Candice and Isekel were still in the office. I went to clarify with him the layout for the transcript document when mentioning that I wanted to make a document to have the information easily inserted and printed. They were able to clarify that the document had to be on letter-sized paper and portrait.

I left to meet Daddy in Curepe. The ride was long and tiring. He had gotten me my first-ever receipt book. We ended up going for Fai's. There wasn't anywhere to get cake. It was nice of Miss Soodeen to help me look over the listing of subjects for the form earlier this afternoon. There were a few for Form Six that were not included in the original George's form. It took me over two and a half hours to get this far in the entry after reaching home. I'm looking forward to cataloguing the library books tomorrow.

**Transcript Numbers Sheet

Dear Diary,

This morning was a quick trip to school. I got in a maxi, and two were behind, ready to go. The Anglican school was now singing the National Anthem while I was crossing the road to get to the savannah side. I wanted to pay for the pies and then pack up to get to 2L. Jess was not there, so I waited with the children. I put them to work on their soca song. A lot of them were still missing parts and had no melody as yet. She came in the last ten minutes of class. I did not stay around but went to get breakfast.

"Patty" had called me on the phone during the second period to ask to assist Miss Mohammed with the leave forms for Miss Paul. When I got there, the office was slightly in a buzz as usual. It so happened that they were talking about that transcript for a student who was trying to apply to university. They decided that the student was the more urgent matter since it could not wait much more time. There was one file that Miss Mohammed gave to me, and she handed me a short slip of paper with the name of the student to look for.

Strangely enough, the student was not found in any of the class listings. I checked through the entire folder three times, and she came to look through it the fourth time. Still not named. We did look through the correct year (2012) of class listings. I left to go and get some things that I didn't know I needed from my desk. Candice was with Indera and Patty in the Vice Principal's office. They had found a third file with the right name. She gave me the file from 2012, showed me the name of the student and then gave me a sheet of paper just like the horrifying-looking teachers' register.

I will have to make over this awful-looking document sometime this weekend. I went by the register desk, and she said, "You're looking through the three terms for each subject and picking out the highest number." She confirmed that it was to be done for both term mark and exam mark, for each subject, Forms 1 to 5. I sat at the computer desk and did this work from recess to the middle of the eighth period.

There was a method I created that made the work easier to do. I got scrap paper and wripped them into strips. They had no scissors in the office, so I had to use mommy's method by crasing the pages on both sides and then ripping them. I wrote out the numbers in rows by the terms and then circled the numbers. That's the only way I got numbers into the sheets so quickly. I kept the scraps for Candice when I gave them to her.

After school, I went to Isa quickly to see if he was able to do the prints for me to update the Tunapuna Presbyterian Primary School song booklets. He didn't have time, so I left my bags with him to open up the staples from the booklets, and then I will get back to him. I went home to have Rustic that night. There were some light changes on the teacher's punctuality and regularity form that I had made for them. Indera gave me a copy of the newly updated list. I did not bother to make many changes when it came to HODS that are acting again.

The rest of the night was spent creating a sheet for the transcript numbers. It looked good. There were subjects like computer literacy and typing that most likely are no longer taught at the school. I left the Information Technology there. The rest of the document was left incomplete by having empty portions of the paper to see what other type of information is required to make the process easier for the Admin. Four paintings were done that evening before doing all of this work. I ended up having an early night's end. Could not remain awake again.

**ojt book

Dear Diary,

This morning I decided to wear my blue, flowered T-shirt. It had been a long while since Christmas, and I had it but did not wear it. The ride and walk down to school were very easy. Jess and I were free for the first two periods. I ended up going over to the office to see if there was any work that I could have helped them out with. Soon, sometime later, just before the third period, a lady in a suit came asking for the OJTs, and I had a feeling like she was our new PMO 1.

When she introduced herself, it was confirmed to us that Miss Williams was moved to a different part of OJT as part of the restructuring, and she became our new PMO 1 (Mrs Shaunelle Archer). She asked to see the logbook, but it was mixed up and lost in everything. She asked if we had read the email, but none of us did. The conversation was intense and a bit scary at times for us. She also had to run back to her car to get a blue book and said that, with effect immediately, this book was to be used instead of a notebook. She asked a joking question if that was the sound of a tow truck outside to get her car.

On her return to the corridor, she gave Afisha the blue book and said to us that it is now our official book to sign in. But Afisha gave me it saying that she knows I'm the more responsible one. She spoke about plans for after the programme issues during the time, doing admin duties to assist, etc. In the end, I asked for her contact, which is the reason all of us got the number. I also opened the book looking to review the layout, and it resembled the layout of a Civil Worker's book, and the other office workers' sign-in. I asked her how she would prefer us to sign.

She said that it starts with the date. She took it from me to her lap and wrote today's date in full to the middle of a line, and guidance came from her afterwards. She said, "So when you're signing, you put your name. You could rewrite the date if you want, the time you can and the time you leave." I questioned the second column for both arrival and departure, and she said to just ignore it. There was a wide column on the right, which I figured was for remarks, and she confirmed that it was so.

She also mentioned that if I were absent to write my name in red ink to notify the principal that I was not there and to state the reason why in the remarks column. Only when she left to speak with Patty, the three of us OJTs sit there chatting. I joked in a meaningful way with them, saying, "Just by looking at this book, I think I could have done a much better job than this." Only Jeanice and I were in the corridor talking, and she learned some things from me. She mentioned how crazy the experience was, making a scheme of work, and I was able to relate.

The time went by, and we went back to the office in the middle of recess. I recalled hearing from Indera to someone else "staff meeting" was supposed to be held after recess. I went to get my journal log book and update the notebook up until this morning. A note was written in it to signify the end of the book's use. Thankfully, I remembered to take a picture of it. I went back to the station and waited and waited. Miss Dayna was asking if the meeting was still happening because she wanted to go back to her Form 4s. We continued waiting, and soon Mel came walking into the room. It looked like she had just come, but she was in the art room the whole morning.

The meeting ended at 1:02 PM. The teachers were given until 1:15 to have lunch before going back to classes for the afternoon. All Details for this meeting will be reflected in the logbook.

As school was about to over, I left and went on my way down to town. Aunty was waiting and called me to the office. I didn't go to the Form 4s class because we were all waiting for Isekel to come back to teach us how to do the transcript. Somehow, he did not come, and Aunty was already calling, so I left when school was over to beat the rush.

I felt exhausted walking up to the waterfront. I had to sit down in the small garden area. The breeze was incredible there, waiting all those hours, it was not nice how people go out there and spoil the area with their smoking. We went back to Logos that day, and she went ahead and cashed out early after checking me four times. I had two baskets. One was for my little items, and the other was for the church books to the APC Library.

Clarence had approved $700 for spending (equivalent to 3500 units). I was scared of miscounting the units and converting them to Trinidad and Tobago dollars. Thankfully, I counted it over six times in the line and had enough change to pay for the items. She was sitting outside waiting for me. Looks like I had taken my time again; she had a longer wait in the International Cafe. I had the popcorn and kept my brownie for home. We had a quick ride home. Not sure if Aunty went down South or remained up here. Will have to get the receipt scanned and entered into the Sessions Logbook for 2025 before handing it over to Clarance.

**Pan picture with teachers

Dear Diary,

This morning was a bank holiday. Thankfully, the bank did not have a long wait, as it always did. Maybe because it was that early in the morning? Daddy went on to trip, and the barber tried to get a tenor pan up for us. I hope Shaun will be able to agree with the costing for it. The ride to school was in a maxi. It was waiting for me as soon as I crossed the road. I ended up being the door person sitting by it. The walk too was empty. I went to pay for the pies, hoping that they were not sold out, but I was able to get them on time. They were good.

I went to the library at some time after giving Mel the cups that she needed to paint the bandanas. I was able to complete lesson 19. A test was the next session, and the first question was completed. There was a class going on for 2M there. "Riba" and his friends around the table were giving a lot of trouble. Miss Solomon had given me money and asked me to buy her lunches, but they were all done. Mr Richard and I didn't know if she ate meat. When I went back, she wanted the burger instead. The lunchtime ended very soon and "Mr Penny" came by the dismiss the children from the room.

Not long after roll call, "Patty" came and told us the judges for the panorama were here and to send the students down to the basketball court. The students were lined up along the classroom building, and the judges were already seated. Jess came out and did some kind of announcement for the people to be credited. It could have been worked on. The band played the fast tempo first and then the slow tempo. I find the slow one was nicer.

Some of the jerseys were different. I had my Mitchelle House T-shirt on to be true to the House. A lot of the children noticed and commented on the blue bandana hooked up to the left side of my pants. "Kirish" didn't know that I was in Mitchelle House, coming back from the cafe with Miss Solomon's lunch.

After the performance, there was a teacher's picture. Donna again was ordering how the people would stand. It was only 1:50 when I got back to the staffroom. Mr Pierre was joking about the green and that he saw as "the best colour". He was joking about whether there would be a class going on after, and "GG" was adding to it. She joked about "going to check on her students. Look, I'm going to class with no books in my hand."

I had to leave as soon as school was over to go meet the Principal of Tunapuna Presbyterian Primary again. I was so tired and wet by the time I got into the car with Daddy. We sat there in the car for a while before I got out at 3:15. As soon as I walked into the compound, the guard came walking up to me as I waited. When I told her about my meeting with the principal, she said that he didn't come to school today. I was a bit shocked again, but went back to the car. I gave John a call to let him know what had happened. He said to call him when I got home.

I had to take a shower right after I got in. Only when Daddy was leaving, I called back John. He mentioned that some changes need to be made in the school song. I spent a very long time to do the fixes. The lead sheet had a lot of changes, so the tenor pan scores had to change to be consistent, too. That means every sheet had to be changed and pitches relabelled. I set the changes to John three times. The rest of the night was taken off. I got packed for Logos tomorrow, and then will try to finish the journal entry got all of yesterday. It took me forever to do that. No paintings were done, and midnight came up too fast. That was the end of the day for me.

St. George’s College (Week #94) – Day #432

Date for Entry: (Monday 20 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:03 – WD:11, (Td:5)*].

Dear Diary,

Last Friday was a waste of a day to be in school. There was nothing important going in at all. Disappointment came when going to Tunapuna Primary Presbyterian School. There was a workshop going on, and the meeting did not go on as usual. The church service on Sunday was a smaller gathering, but the performance was good. Mr Sharma played the Tenor pan with me. Looked like Clarence had a sermon to do in another church.

This morning was easy. Praise God. A bus was waiting for me as the red light held the traffic. The ride was quick too as well as the walk. There was a Form 5 student who walked down with me. Some of the teachers were now coming in. I was greeted by a new guard, too. He needed to know my name. The kitchen was still in darkness. That means the light bulbs had not been changed. I did not like it when it rained in that corner, as it got the entire kitchen floor muddy.

As soon as I met Dr Jogie at the cafe, Mel came asking to see if the music room had double-sided tape for decorations. I got the keys from the guard and went with "Mr Warner" to the music room. Pans were all over the room, and two men had been setting up two tents outside in the court. She had some students helping her make decorations to stick on the steelpan instruments.

I left for the staffroom to finally sit down for the morning after leaving home. Soon, another student came asking for the keys again. I gave them it to send to Miss. I began to realise something while coming out of the washroom, about being in the school and after leaving. It was not a good thought at all, but in the end, I will see if it is true. The third period crept up quickly as "AJ" and Mr Charles were talking about Panorama for schools. The conversation was about the students being zombified, hungry, or thirsty for the first thing in the morning as the teachers were walking back in.

I had 1F alone. Not many of the students were there today. It took a while for them to stand and then quiet down before the greeting. As soon as I asked about the homework, a lot of them did not do it. They were forced to write it out in their books, and then I corrected it at the end of the first period. You have to wonder why these children come to school if they arent want to do anything. The remainder of the session was for them to work on their soca lyrics. I worked on lesson eighteen in the workbook.

The six basses were loud in the whole place. I went to rest my things back at my desk. On returning from the cafe and washing my hands, "Cleo" was notifying the teachers of what to expect tomorrow evening for the preliminaries in the courtyard. She said that the students will have to play it once slowly and then at tempo. The pies were good. I feel like there was a new pepper sauce being used today. It was good to see "Choo Choo" also after her long time away from school. I hope that she is alright.

Didn't notice when the staffroom began to empty. Mr Charles got the container that he wanted. I told him about going to the kitchen to wash my hands before having the pies. Good thing Aunty and I went to Extra Foods last Thursday. It looked like it was exactly what he was looking for. However, I had forgotten to take a picture of it for my journal entry.

I went to the library, and it was much better there except for the murmurs and obscene language by the students. I started to feel very sleepy, like on Friday. Maybe that area is very comfortable. Toward the end of lunchtime, Miss Alexander dismissed the children from the library at 12:57 PM. When a group of girls were leaving, it was the first time we all heard the buzzer ring that materials from the library were being taken improperly. They were all called back to walk through the scanners one at a time.

I met Miss Mary and Mel in the art room painting on the "Out and Bad" on bandanniers. "Celia" was trying to manage the marching. Only about seven girls were there for the practice. I ended up cutting out patterns of flames from glittered coloured Bristol board. When Kai made a mistake, I ended up painting with them in the seventh period. He made some comments on my hiccups again. We had an interesting conversation about the Phoenix, and he told me about that story with the girl becoming a phoenix. He didn't know about the other special qualities of the creature.

School was over slowly. The steelband was under the tents and playing the tune all afternoon. Thank God they took a rest for a while. The judge's tent was set where I sat. While the band was playing the tune for a fourth time, a truck came, and the Venz-boy was only looking at me, lol. Wonder what that was all about. The guard got to lock up the gate and leave when they drove out. There was a big volume discussion going on in the staffroom. I could hear Donna and Mrs Santana. It didn't end until a very long time.

I needed to use scissors and had none, so it led me back to the art room to use them and continue writing for the book. Miss was wondering where I was all the time. Three female parents were chatting in the back and making cutouts of flames. They left to hear the music, and Mr Harry left with them. Mr Raymond was waiting for us for a while in the staffroom, but we didn't have wifi to get his phone call. The sky was dark by the time Mel got home. We took the highway to Palsea to get to Tunapuna. We ended up taking Basilon Street to get to Green Street. I forgot how scary it was to be on that small road.

Daddy was there in the living room by the time I got home. Until 8 PM, I got up from the couch to answer my messages before going to do work. I saw John asking me how the meeting went, so I had to message the principal again, and we got a meeting settled for tomorrow at 3:30. Clarence also messaged me back and permitted me to buy some books from Logos at $700. We were not sure about the funds for the library.

Aunty Isa messaged me earlier that morning while I was in school. After my response to her, I went on to mention the APC Library and the donation of books if she had any. She said she will go through her library. I did have to message back Clarence to see if he would be accepting magazines for the library, and he agreed.

The last thing concerning WhatsApp for the night was calling Aunty to let her know all that had happened in all of the messaging. I was hoping it would not be troubling for her to go to Logos on Wednesday. It just so happened that tomorrow she was gonna be having a late evening, and that Wednesday it would work out. I got more writing done in the gallery until I couldn't do much again. Two more paintings were done before I had to get to bed. The game was finally working the way it should.

St. George’s College (Week #93) – Day #429

Date for Entry: (Wednesday 15 January 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 02 May 2025)

[T2, W:02 – WD:8, (Td:2)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning, the challenge to get to school was in effect again. The driver was waiting for me to get in, but mashed the gas when I was trying to get to the seat. I sat opposite this year's "Tall Prefect". The walk was slow, but I got there eventually. I met Miss Harris in the kitchen while one of the guards was complaining about someone's behaviour to anger him early in the morning. As soon as I went to put down my bags, I went to pay for the Channa pies. Mr Richard said that they were not ready yet.

I went back to get to class. Jess was already there, and she was doing a brainstorming example. The children were given the rest of the dub period to work on their calypso lyrics. I saw that Miss Carthy took off her additions to her head this morning. It looked different. Donna wasn't here either, or we may have heard her. I sat and got more questions for treble clef. Thankfully, Bass Clef would be right after, and I thought that recycling the same questions would be necessary and highlight the differences to future students.

Time was up and I went back to the staffroom early, leaving Jess back with my pencil lent to Renako. I saw "Cleo" on her desk. She looked like she was free, so I went to give her my attempt at the poetry homework on the benefits of education to the nation. This was given to her Form 1 class. She seemed very surprised and laughed out when she realised what I had handed her. By the time waiting for the Channa pies to be served, she came by too and said, "I'm keeping it, eh." I laughed and then responded that I would make a copy and give her the original.

The pies were good again today. I was glad to remember to pack it with me tomorrow. There was a lot of writing only for this morning in the journal entries; that recess time came by so quickly. The room was getting colder too, as the rain fell. On top of that, the air conditioner was pointing directly at me. The pulling of numbers for the Marching, Chantwell, and Boys & Girls Tug of War took place. It was decided at the end that the first draw for Tug of War would go for the boys, and a separate one was done for the girls. Mr Charles did the picking for Mitchell House.

Just before all of that excitement, I got a phone call from Tunapuna Presbyterian Primary School's Principal about their school song that I did, and we were trying to schedule a time to meet. I chose Friday at 1:30 PM, and he was alright with it. Just before lunch was over, I ran to the staffroom for a meeting with Mrs Santana. She gave me three types of documents and asked if I could make an official form for the sporting events. It looked very confusing and got my head even more confused. I still took up the challenge to try and make something, even though I didn't know what on earth I was going to do.

The rest of the school evening went by with the Form 4s. They were working on their SBAs. I worked on Bass Clef. As I waited with Mel, she and Mr Raymond left a while after school. I was with "Jan" and "GG" wrapping gifts for their language day on Friday. I got a ride home with "GG" and her husband. The ride was long in traffic. I got tired and had to fight the sleep. Daddy was already inside when ai got in. I ate, showered and got to work one time after painting four pictures. I ended up doing the field events form for Mrs Santana. I called her to verify the information first by WhatsApp before emailing it over to her. The marchers' payments list was edited and sent first to her and "Celia".

The time was minutes after 12 that night, and there was nothing at all I could have spared with the time. I got an interesting visitation too, around minutes to 10 PM. The moon's eye was seriously wide. I think I fell asleep quickly after lying down. Two days in a row, I wanted to do music work and did not get to do any at all. There was a nice Christian Reggae song that I wanted to do. Maybe sometime in the coming days, I will get to work on it.
