[T1, W:10 – WD:46, (Td:1)*].

Dear Diary,

This morning was a late one. The first bus waited for me. I decided to take the front since the back was empty. As we crossed the road, I went and decided to sit in the front seat. I smiled seeing the verse from John (17:3) stuck on the glare shield. Cece Wianns “Goodness of God” began to play and the driver whistled while I sang along. This felt like a blessing to me, especially with the new song that came after. It lasted the whole ride from Curepe to the Arranguez Savannah.

Then the new song came on and I had the courage to ask the driver for the name since it was good and never heard it before. It had the words “Hallelujah, You are with me” in it. He told me that the name of the song was “I am not alone.”

The walk down was good. I think almost the full stretch of the cool side of Sixth Avenue to see what it was like. That cool side was not worth it at all with all the humps, bumps to climb over and climb down with these short legs. The staffroom was empty. There was a conference in the Hall for the Form 3s.

Religious Instructions for lower school were going on. I heard Shiva celebrating for his free time and he asked if I was writing about it in the empty staffroom. “Carhio” entered the space late too and began expressing how she was complimented this morning.* That took on cross-conversation for the full single period and big mouth volume too before everyone cleared out to their classes.

After going to pay for the pies the conference was still on in the hall. It sounded like a career discussion. Would have been nice to go and sit in. “GG” and “Carthio” started talking about a roti shop in Tunapuna Road called Cami’s “pass the church going up Tunapuna Road.” They began to talk about roti places when Susan asked for anyone interested in buying roti for lunch.

The 3F children were in the pan room working on a steelpan song. Jess told me it was “Oh Holy Night” and that when I asked, she said the key was in C. I was able to play out the full verse on my own by auditing and ‘attemptive perfect pitch,’ Lolz. Aliah, “Jenny”, and “Miss Noel” were on the Tenors. I took “Jenny’s” notebook and wrote out the letters. The pitches that required rolling were symbolised with a square. I regretted that square choice instead of a simple circling.

Recess time came and we had a short run-through of the Panorama tune. Lunchtime was the real practice and I assisted with the toc-toc. They liked how I did the count-off. The session ran into the roll call period. Jess had sent me down to the 2F classroom. “Carthio” was still taking the attendance by the time I got here.

The students were given ten minutes before I asked them to pack up and distribute the papers. Jess did not show up to class until there were only twenty minutes for class. I knew I saw someone familiar in the corridor that evening going down to the music room. There was no talk on that visit.* She sat and saw the test paper for the first time. She said that it looked easy enough for them but the look on the students’ faces said many stories to me.

Ravin and Daniel spoke with me about the test. Their main concern was about the interval section. Could not stay longer but had to get to Isa in Curepe. I got more copies of the exam paper for Monday morning one time before the teacher complained of no staff or printing which I knew would happen this morning.

The package sticker was a bit too big. Isa said that it would be more economical I I could resize the document to 2” x 4” inches. Another trial of printing the Author’s card was done. The margins will need to be wider. I did not take any of the papers to grade. Three nights at different times within this week I took work home to do and ended up returning to school with none of them done, Lolz.
