St. George’s College (Week #86) – Day #395

Date for Entry: (Wednesday 06 November 2024)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Friday 29 November 2024)

[T1, W:10 – WD:44, (Td:5)*].

Dear Diary,

I was supposed to stay home this morning but came to school anyway. I had no breakfast. The parents were in the waiting area as I went to pay for the pies. Mrs Hosein-Ali was next to me, and Mr Richard made the joke as if we were related. Both of us said no. He answered the comment, “Because he is a hardcore Christian and you’re Muslim.” That was nice considering the hardcore trouble I had been facing since the term opening.

No sign of Mel or Jess around. I hope that they come around soon. And the moment I wrote it, Jess came walking in for the morning. She came to ask if I could have taken a Form 1 or 2 final to create for final exams. I did remind her that the OJT was not supposed to do the final exam paper.

When she asked about the coursework exam I took it instead. She probably may not have wanted to do any of them. As she went away two men came to check out the labs.* We also saw the Physical Education Curriculum Officer who came to visit.* “Celia” was busy. We planned to meet at recess time to speak about the leave forms.

Jess and I had 1F. There she asked me to the lesson on Bass clef, while she marked the college song work the children to collect before school was over. Only a few of the students did the coursework assignment but hopefully, I will get them graded. The laughs and jokes got on in an empty staffroom. It began with a guard who lost control of her anger about someone ill-treating her. She did mention Mrs Noons-Charles being the most positive person in the school as I was walking in the compound.

At the same time, “GG” came into the staffroom with a big joke about salt. She was trying to make the connection between the salt she saw by the kitchen door and the vomit some weeks ago, other than thinking of it as black magic. This topic lasted all of the fifth period while “Mr Marlon” shared with us some of the main highlights of the breakout.

We spoke about the guard finding out the time leaving early but never after school hours. I was sorry to hear about Mr Greenaway and his rough treatment from the guard to use the washroom. While laughing they saw my journal books and wondered if I was taking notes from yesterday’s intense meeting.

I recall a good laugh with Mr Charles by the washroom. He asked me if I had a cold as I was blow-drying my hands. I told him that I had some really nice good pepper from the pies this morning and he laughed with me. I had a good cry from it. Before this, he was talking about a student being called nice who was giving trouble.

I did not see Jess at all after recess. Maybe she went to the music room. Lunchtime pan practice was going on and then her choir practice went on right after. The pan was cut short and we had to play softer than usual. 1L came over after their roll call and the same Bass clef lesson was given to them. Jess sang the pitches song for the treble staff and bass staff. I was able to work it through.

After school was awkward changing my long pants to causal short pants in the staffroom. Table Tennis session was so nice. It took the Coach a while to come and I watched the Form 4s* play some regular tennis before the tables were sent up. He was surprised that Kerensia and I got the nets set up fast. Most of my games were between Kerensia and Danic James. Mel and Mr Raymond were leaving when I got into the staffroom to cool off. Mr Marcelle left with them. I was surprised how the alarm didn’t sound. It was peaceful being alone. I ended up changing back into the long pants to walk up the road.

That evening Daddy and I had a long wait for Andrew’s fish in Royal Castle.* There were many SWAT guards in the building. The elder one inside watched everyone passing in his sight. Probably money was being changed or they were disguised bandits in SWAT robbing the place. Who knows?

That same night at the computer John sent me a picture of the Tunapuna Presbyterian Primary School’s logo. I was disappointed that this is what the school sent. The challenge to find assistance online was disgraceful. It finally took a while until a site called Canva opened up. I was able to brighten the paper and alter the colour. This work took me until 10 PM. I got caught in a ‘talk’ with someone and given some Quran scriptures.

On this night too, I tried the Ven Colour app. The first two painted pictures were nice. I wanted to try an easy painting first and then the second was categorised as an “Art Challenge”. By the time it was completed, I seriously understood well what they had meant by the Art Challenge with 150 different colours and small areas to colour.
