St. George’s College (Week #96) – Day #443

Date for Entry: (Tuesday 04 February 2025)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Wednesday 25 June 2025)

[T2, W:05 – WD:22, (Td:4)*].

Dear Diary,

Today was the second day of office work. I arrived at school to cool off in the staffroom's air conditioning. I got to see Mel come in and gift her the art book that I had got for her from Logos. She said that she will read it whole day in the art room. I left the paper that was to be thrown away in the office, and cleaned up on her desk to use in her building.

Choo Choo was asking me if I liked the small bag that she left for me on my desk. It was then that I realised she was the person who wrote the appreciation card with the sweets bag for me. When I thanked her and mentioned that I didn't recognise the name, she said that it was her handwriting, she couldn't get it done properly, lol.

I went to the office. It was empty and felt nice early in the morning. Dr Blandin was waiting for someone to do copies for her. She was with the prefect Kalid. She had a lot of stuff to print were Word documents, and all of them needed to be reformatted before printing. When asking her why she didn't send it as a PDF, she said that Candice could not get it to open. I will have to show her how to do that.

Celia was looking for Urgent Meeting forms early, but the small filing cabinet on the computer side did not have a folder with any. Sadly, I did not remember to bring my flashdrive, or I would have printed a copy. Instead, I went to the staffroom to get my folder of forms. I gave her a copy from my folder and told her that the only problem was that my DAPHA Projects logo would be on that one. When she saw the document, she probably liked it and said that the logo wasn't a problem.

She took the sheet and went to see Miss Chote, who came in a while after. Mr Richard had passed by early, so I paid him for the pies one time. Mr Raymond came walking in with his laptop. He wanted to work on the T-shirts for a sports team of the school, but he had to use Wi-Fi. Miss Carthy was there with me to print a letter. It needed the school letterhead and a place for her and Patty to sign off. Luckily, that was an easy copy and paste.

She looked at everything and said that it was the fastest service she had ever had. Then, when the printer made its beautiful sound to begin, I said, "The sound of confirmation", and she laughed out. Mr Raymond came back and I offered him to use the other computer at the time. It was a while into the third period, and I was shocked at how the time went by. Carthy came back again. And she wanted another print. She had to make Mr Raymond move so I could sit.

The letter was done by Javid and had to be printed over because of two errors to change, and the stamp also was not changed. This was my first time attempting to open the stamp and changing the date, too. Thankfully, it did not spoil like my first attempt at using the shredder, and it spoiled, hahaha. Miss Ali came, and Mr Raymond was able to get internet from the admin. I took a look while he was working on the design for the sports team. There was one team he designed before his class after recess.

Candice came, and then Jeanice came in the sixth period. It was good that she came because I could not find the CAPE certificates in the store room. She was able to get it while I went to get a third set of letters printed for Carthy to sign and get stamped. Roberts came during lunchtime and went to speak with Patty. There was an external examiner who came. I went to see Indera, but she was in a meeting about students' irregularities. I went to check for Patty, and she was not there. I didn't know what to tell the lady. When she left, I felt disappointed that I couldn't help the lady.

Two parents came to sign out their children. I helped them sign out. Another parent came at the end of lunch during roll call time, and I had to call Miss Libert from my cellphone to sign the form. Eventually, the student came, and I got them signed out. The parent looked happy when she got the assistance.

I tried to sit and work on the book, but I did not remember to pack my manuscript. Maybe when I get home, I can do it? Since the room was getting empty and less work was around, I saw the files still on the desk. I asked Candice about it, and she said that I would have to look for a place in the drawer on top for them. I took the files into the store room and looked into the second drawer that I knew would be filled.

Before I began to do the sorting, I made sure to check the years back and ensure they were in order. There were a few that were not in order and had to be switched. Some of them had to be taken out of the second drawer to be placed in the first drawer above. The rest of the files were neatly placed in that file above. The only issue was that we ran out of suspension files, so the last one went in just as it came. When I saw more boxes around. I took one and got it sorted.

Candice was finally going to the supermarket. I asked her about the boxes, and she asked if I didn't want to stop. I said Nah. It had a lot of Ministry books to fill up. Mr Ustache was laughing about how he misplaced his sheet of paper. I took the second box and took it out front of the office, where the big garbage bag was still there. There was a lot of paper and brown envelopes from the Principals of different schools.

When everything was over, I opened the brown envelopes and saw that they were confidential, so I placed the big grouping of them into two brown envelopes and into Patty's inbox. I ended up leaving the remaining open brown envelopes on the front desk. Maybe there will be teachers who want to recycle them. I feel like someone might throw them away when I get back to school tomorrow.

Only while waiting for Isa in the evening, I remembered that I forgot to do the copies for Miss Hosein-Ali. There were a lot of times when the machine got jammed. I remembered making a joke with Candice that the machines were not jamming the way that we wanted. They were playing soca at that part of the lunchtime. Isa looked tired. I was wiping my eyes on the bus and trying to stay awake. I was feeling like how Aunty Vangy looked when she was tired coming from work. He gave me the cost price for two quotes that were going to be made, hopefully this weekend. Daddy reminded me when we got home that tomorrow would be Matthew and Stephanie's grandmother's funeral.

I was only able to get this exhaustingly long entry typed up at home until 8:30. I knew I should have done my receipt scanning from Logos, but the time to do over George's registration form was unknown. It took me 4.5 hours to get the students' information and the mother and father information part created. The past portion would have to be done in school because the picture of the form was blurred out. I got the property sticker design for Isa to print done at 12:38. I was more than too tired to do anything, falling into bed long after 1 AM.
