Dear Diary,

This morning, I was struggling to wake up on the couch. I could hear Daddy turn on his phone. It didn't feel like a shirt-and-pants day. I opted for a casual day today. I decided to wear a fancy yellow-spotted black shirt with track pants. I told Daddy that the only thing I felt was missing now was my cross chain to complete the outfit. It was missting for over four weeks now and was missing it.

The bus route was not as bad as yesterday. Thankfully, one driver decided to wait for me. He was cussing a lot at the person on the phone. We waited many times for people to get on the bus. The nice lady on the microphone was speaking during the Anglican school assembly. The hall was filled with children for an assembly. I heard Jess' voice on a microphone calling out the results at the Carnival Show last week. I didn't stay to hear the rest.

Instead, I wanted to sit at my desk. To make up for the late assembly, I decided to sit and complete the detailed entry of yesterday's journal. It was finished on time. Somehow, she did not return to the classroom, and we had 2L. The children were alone when I peeked in. She came to me three minutes before the third period to ask to see my timetable. She left, and Miss Carthy had already run out the door, boasting about wanting to leave.

I went to get the pies. "Maria" and I met outside Mr Richard's place. She mentioned having an exam and that the children were giving her a sidelong look. When it was time to pay, we took out aloo pies and gave him the money. I heard her laughing and saying behind me, "Ah shouldah just take Mr Ali's money instead." We all laughed. Anyway, praise God, they have the pepper today.

After fetching the pies, I decided to get the clear masking tape from the art building to check on my files. I met Miss outside, chatting with Mr Marcelle before entering the classroom. She had 1L for those two periods. The children expressed how they disliked switching from Theatre Arts to Visual Arts. I started working on the files once the same students helped me find the tape from the tables. The work began and finished four minutes into recess. I took the files to the office once to insert the treasury tags. I had fewer than fifty tags in the box. Thankfully, I got some more.

Candice, Miss Ali, and a guy went out for lunch during the fifth and sixth periods. Mr Charles came in to get some copies and approached me about it, which was nice. He asked if I was going to print the exam papers. When I said yes, he said he would come to me. I was about to respond with a joke. I don't think I was interested in seeing the files. Mrs Solomon was sitting in the corner, chatting with Miss Baccha. I went to Indera after printing the departmental files.

After knocking and entering, I told her, "I have some instruments for you." We laughed when I said they weren’t musical instruments. When I explained about the files, she found the January 2025 leave forms for me. She said she had already sorted them by department. That was true, but when opening them, some teachers were grouped. I managed to get a box of paper clips to clip the teachers' forms before cropping and updating them into their files. She saw what I did and placed them into the second drawer of the four-drawer filing cabinet in her office. I went to print another batch of the departmental files so she wouldn't have to keep putting the paper clips in and out.

On my way out, Rhea asked if the machine was working again. I told her yes. When she decided to run it, time was short, and I had to go to my meeting with Mel. I left the extra signs I made for Mr Eustace on the desk. Just before leaving, he requested eight copies. I went straight to the other building. Mel and I started working immediately. We marked all the paintings and mixed media from the shelves and the table by the stove. I had the rubric in my hand and told Miss what to write. We worked until the end of school.

At school’s end, we were both exhausted and soaked from the heat. I entered the office from inside and saw Patty and Mrs Santana chatting in the 'lobby' area. I still managed to get some copies done while waiting. Instead of making two trips, I gathered everything in my tray and went to the staffroom. Only "GG" was there. She said Mel went to the grocery store, and Eddie would be late.

The journey was longer as they had to make two stops. Daddy was home when I arrived. I ate and did around three paintings. That evening, in the Christian Education Committee chat, it was frustrating that they kept asking for more changes to the advertisement. This was the sixth attempt to redo it. I also saw Miss Karen asking for either me or Mr Benjamin to find scripture verses related to our Easter display items. I took a few minutes to do this. They were privately messaged to Karen for review.

After completing those tasks, the rest of the night was dedicated to working on the Marksheet for Mel to record her grades, instead of using a blank sheet for scrap. At 9:42, the document was finalised and sent to Miss. She had no issues. Another Visual Arts teacher had sent her an Excel file for marking. It was nice to see the same approach used as in the digital markbook I created, although it seemed some parts of the criteria were missing. I told Miss I needed to review it. Given the time, I could do other work. Instead, I made a poor choice and turned on the television, remaining there until 2 AM.
