Music Degree - (Yr3, Sem1)

Date for Entry: (Thursday 22 August 2019)

Actual Date of Online Entry: (Saturday 19th March 2022)

Dear Diary,

I went to academic advising today and when I entered the top of the Humanities building, I did not see many music students in the room. Mr. Sharma and Mr. Delas were there. I had a while waiting with them by their desk because the internet was not working too quick that day. I got my advising for both semesters and seemed as if I did not really have much choice with the courses I had to do. I was really excited that I was finally getting to do composition after switching to Jazz Theory 1 which has not become compulsory.

From the last thesis meeting before the end of semester two, we were told by Mr. Murry to have a course evaluation done. For me, I did not see the purpose of it and I knew all of the courses I still had to do and the second English I had to repeat. My number took some while to call but then I met Ms. De Silva who I knew for a while now and she was able to assist me. I had to give her my transcript and she did the evaluation? Lolz.

At some other time, the registration fees and bank payments were done. The classes for this semester would have been Music Education 1, Performance Music 5, Choral Arranging, and Caribbean Studies Project. Performance Music would have been divided into Individual pan, Individual Harmonium, and Indian Classical Ensemble.

The Caribbean Studies Project which is also known as the thesis was a full academic year. I was not looking forward to my thesis at the time. Thankfully there was heavy score analysis that made it fun for me.

I did not create a personal class timetable this year. Instead, I printed out the DCFA class schedule and highlighted the courses I was doing.
